In the 'South and South East in Bloom' school grounds awards, we are so pleased to have been judged as Gold and Overall South East Winner.

Here is a summary of areas that impressed the judges:

• The involvement of the whole school in ecology, nature studies and gardening.
• The use of the outdoor classroom in all aspects of the curriculum.
• The very genuine knowledge and enthusiasm of the children.
• Nest boxes (one with a webcam), owl and bat boxes and minibeast homes throughout the site.
• The proposal to invite other schools to make use of the splendid facilities on offer here.
• The newly created pond and dipping platform.
• The school orchard.
• The exemplary compost area.
• The Mediterranean garden, herb garden, ornamental and vegetable displays, all appropriately mulched, beautifully maintained and appreciated.
