Class 4 ages 9-11 Teacher Mrs Newman (Deputy Head)

                            Support Assistant Mrs Jones

As well as being our deputy headteacher, Mrs Newman is the PE co-ordinator and runs after school sports activities assisted by Mrs Jones.

This area in the curriculum involves close links with other schools in the community including secondary. Mrs Newman also runs a lunchtime recorder club!

Class 4 have been studying Africa this term and have produced some stunning artwork. More can be seen in our Gallery.

The whole school were given the opportunity to meet a very special group of students from South Africa called 'I-themba.'

(This is taken from the Zulu word for Hope.) They performed a vibrant mix of music, dance and drama to tell the story of South Africa, a story of reconciliation and hope!

At the beginning of term, the girls and the boys football teams played in school tournaments at Marden Hockey Club. Both teams received the 'fair play' award for good sportsmanship and cheering everyone on. Fantastic! We are very proud of you all.

In November, 20 children from Class 4 and 12 from Class 3, attended the cross country festival at Homewood School in Tenterden.

There were 2 races; one for Years 3/4 and one for Years 5/6.

One team from Class 3 were placed second and two teams from Class 4 were placed third and first!

All the children completed the course and had a great after afternoon. A big thank you to Mrs Newman and Mrs Jones. Well done everyone!
